The sun shone over the Alvanley Trials ground, near Frodsham for round 6 of the 2 Machs Motorcycles, Cheshire, OSET Cup. The Frodsham & district club hosts signed on 46 riders to take to the 5 sections with rocks, logs, banks and tricky turns being the order of the day.
Fresh from a great national series campaign Morgan Shepherd showed his class to win the Expert route dropping just two marks in his four laps. One over the logs of section three and the other on the rocks in section two. Kieran Skehan returned to his earlier form of the series taking the runner up spot on 13, a costly five when missing the ends markers on section one pushed his score into double figures. Steffan Jones and Dylan Hayes continued their battle separated by 4 marks on 24 and 28 respectively for the final podium spot. Dan Leadbetter had some excellent rides, especially on section 3, with its tight turns and logs but some costly marks elsewhere left him in 5th against some stiff competition.
Jack Long wrapped up the C class Intermediate championship with another win, just 6 marks lost. Connal Wilcock returned to the series and had a great ridefinishing in second place, on 17 marks. Followed by Dan Douglas in third on 29, dropping ten marks on the banked turns of section four. Ellie Molyneaux continues to improve finishing in fourth place just 4 marks from podium spot after only moving to the inters route in the spring.
Alex Leadbetter took his first ever class win, in just his third trial, in D class intermediate. Dropping 12 marks, most of which on a tricky log/tight turn combo of section three. Harry Drewitt got his reward for a five hour journey from south Wales taking second place on 20 with Joe Chard taking the final podium spot, closely behind on 24. Will Hughes, Alfie Holyes and Jess Widdowson battled it out for fourth place with just four marks covering all three riders. Jess is another rider to have moved up into the inters class and had a great ride to be up with the front runners.
Ellis Barton, one of the huge improvers of the year dropped just two marks to win the D class novices. Ellis looks set to move up a class next season and deservedly so. Kobe Perry followed on 8 marks, after setting off from home at 6am. Dylan Ratcliffe continues to impress in his first season of trials, just one mark further back in third place. Oli Arkwright had one of his best rides of the season to narrowly miss out on a podium spot on just 14 marks. Ted Mackman rode his birthday present,20 Racing, for the first time to finish in 5th on 26 marks with Zane Stout following on 30.

Corey Shepherd, another big improver of the year, won the E class Novice on just 11 marks ahead of Jobe Griffiths on 52. With Bailey Holmes following on 67 adapting well to his bike after stepping up to a 16 Racing recently. Logan Price and Ben Whitehouse battled it out for 4th and 5th places with just 2 marks separating the two youngsters.
The Final round of the 2015 series is set for November 29th at the popular Superbole, downhill centre, in Harthill. Full details will be uploaded to www.2machsmotorcycles shortly.
